Computer Department
"Nothing is permanent but change”, how true these words are especially
when we look at the world of Computers. Computer technology is growing so fast that
everyone has to keep learning new and newer technologies to keep abreast of time.
The twenty first century has brought before us the Information Age. Computers and Internet
have radically transformed our lives and opened up new avenues of knowledge, Information,
work, employment, business, entertainment and communication. Information technology
literacy has become essential for survival and growth in the knowledge society and for
advancing up on the career path.
Computers can no longer be termed as a mere invention - They are a revolution. And the way
we live now is an evidence of this revolution, so much, so that it is hard to imagine a
world without them. There is no area in the field of work, learning play or leisure that
has remained untouched by computers. Naturally for us to make way in any of these areas,
learning about computers has become quite mandatory. Computers are the most essential
needs now-a-days. Taking in consideration to the needs of the computers in this
computerized world they had been made friendly to the Kendriya Vidyalaya O.F., Bhusawal,
students also. *Introduction to the Computer Laboratory* 1. First of all it is an Air Conditioner Lab. 2. Total there are 37 PC’s available in
the school from which 23 PC’s are made useable for the students purpose in the
laboratory, and 14 PC’s are made useable for Staff, PRC Room, Class rooms, Library
and office respectively. - - Processor Celeron 600 / core deo MHz. - 128/256/512 MB of RAM. - Multimedia. 3. The PC’s are connected in a network in
the Lab using the LANN facility i.e. the Local Area
Network. 4. UPS of 3.5 KVA, 1/2 KVA 500 VA capacity, and
again having 20 KHz. 5. Hub is used and of course the modem is
present for the INTERNET connection. 6. INTERNET facility is also available from 7am
t0 4 pm and 7pm to 11 PM for educational purpose. The school has also its own ID. 7. Printers are available, total 6 printers are
there in the types as :- - Dot-matrix. - Inkjets. - Lasers. 8. Scanner is also present. 9. Educational CD’s are available for the
students. 10. Antivirus software's are loaded in every
machine to keep away the machine from some miscreant’s data. 11. Television screen (Sharp) is also present
to view the different presentations made by the teachers while teaching for students. 12. CD/DVD writers is also there to write the
CD’s which makes the access easier from one PC to another. *About Hardware and Software's* *Hardware:- Computer system is being divided into two parts
- Hardware and Software The term hardware refers to physical components
or actual circuits of the computer system. In the hardware parts comes like Parts used in the CPU. CD Writer CD ROM Floppy Drive Hard Disk. Mother Board Different Ports. Modems etc. Note - All Computer Systems have a same
hardware set in them. *Software’s:- The operations of the computers system need
proper instructions. So, software can be termed as, it is a complete set of instructions
given to the computer system to get required results from computer.
